Following an investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau, authorities identified Nizam Mohammed Hajjeh, who identified Monica as his wife, as the suspect. He was charged with murder and placed in the Craven County Confinement Facility without bond. Legal proceedings are ongoing.
