MILLVILLE, NB — The community of Millville and surrounding areas are mourning the loss of Jacob Moore, a cherished young man whose battle with cancer ended peacefully on February 23, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Jacob was just 19 years old.
Jacob was a proud alumnus of Nackawic Senior High School, where he made lasting friendships and discovered his passion for basketball. Those who knew him remember a young man with an enormous heart and a beautiful smile that could light up any room. His presence brought joy and warmth to everyone he encountered, whether on the basketball court or simply spending time with friends and family.
Beyond his athletic pursuits, Jacob worked at Moore Boys Contracting Ltd., following in the footsteps of his family tradition. He took pride in his work and was known among colleagues for his dedication and friendly nature.
Jacob faced his cancer journey with incredible courage and strength that inspired all who knew him. Throughout his six-month battle, he remained positive and surrounded himself with the love of family and friends. His family described him as their “precious son” whose fight was marked by remarkable resilience.
The pain of losing Jacob is indescribable for his family, particularly his parents and his brother Canaan, who was not only Jacob’s sibling but his very best friend.
