Amy Cathleen Hartley, age 49, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on July 4, 1976, in Adrian, Michigan, Amy was the cherished daughter of John and Cathy (Commenator) Hartley.

A devoted educator and faithful servant of her community, Amy was a proud member of Sacred Heart Church and the Michigan Education Association. Her life was defined by her unwavering commitment to her students, her faith, and her family.

Amy began her education at Sacred Heart School and graduated from Hudson Area High School in 1994. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Adrian College in 1999 and later completed her Master of Arts in Guidance and School Counseling at Siena Heights University in 2005. Her 23-year career in education began at Union City Community Schools and flourished during her two decades at Jonesville High School, where she inspired countless students with her passion for mathematics and guidance.

Amy’s students were her greatest joy. She dedicated herself wholeheartedly to nurturing their potential, offering wisdom, encouragement, and steady support. Beyond the classroom, she served as JEA Treasurer, contributed to the yearbook, and volunteered on numerous school committees. Her dedication left a lasting imprint on her school community.

Outside of her professional life, Amy embraced her many passions. She was an avid reader, a talented crafter, and a devoted fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football. She delighted in collecting Dayton Hudson Santa Bears, proudly completing the entire set. Christmas was her favorite season, and she filled her home with warmth, festive decorations, and the comforting aroma of her beloved baked goods.

Amy is lovingly remembered by her mother, Cathy; her brother Daniel (Alyssa) Hartley; her sister Sarah Hartley; and her cherished nieces and nephews, Eli, Holly, Luke, and Trinity. She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents, and several beloved relatives.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Hudson, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, February 27, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Marry Funeral Home, with a Vigil Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m.

Amy’s legacy of faith, education, love, and laughter will live on in the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
