Claire Jelske, Lake Crystal MN, Obituary, Death: Has Sadly Passed Away in a Tragic Collision

The Lake Crystal community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Claire Jeske, 15, a young teen from rural Hanska who died Sunday in a devastating car-pickup collision north of the city.

According to the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred around noon at the intersection of County Road 11 and County Road 20. Authorities reported that Braydon Mitchell Kral, 17, of rural New Ulm, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu eastbound when it collided with a 2002 GMC Sierra pickup traveling north. The pickup was driven by 40-year-old Nathan Jon Manderfield of Lake Crystal. The intersection is controlled by a stop sign requiring east-west traffic to yield to north-south traffic.

Claire Jeske, a passenger in the Malibu, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Kral sustained serious injuries and was transported by air ambulance for medical treatment. Manderfield and his passenger, Todd Allen Eich, 32, were evaluated at the scene and did not require hospitalization.

The sudden and tragic loss of Claire has left her family, friends, classmates, and neighbors devastated. At just 15 years old, her life was filled with promise, potential, and dreams yet to unfold.
